Weekend

My Weekend started off on Thursday evening. After spending the day at my doctor's appointment and hanging out with my mom I came home to see a giant elk head in my living room. Hubby and our good neighbor hung it up that night. I knew it was inevitable, I just wish we had somewhere else to put it (you know, like the garage?). This is true love people- when you let your hubby hang this on the wall.

Mia and I had a shopping trip to Costco yesterday. She was such a good girl and while we were there she spotted this pretty dress that she kept saying how pretty it was and that it was just like Princess Belle. We had to get it and of course she put it on as soon as we got home.

I bought a new computer armoire and hubby started putting it together. It will be so much better than our clunky old desk.

And FINALLY...Breaking Dawn Part 2 came out on Redbox. I saw it and HAD to get it. I had tickets to a private showing when it came out back in November but Mia was really sick that night and we ended up taking her to Primary Children's hospital. I kept meaning to go see it but never did. My thoughts? It was ok. Bella is terrible in it. What is wrong with her yelling voice? Sounds way too forced to me.

And Mia woke up at 7am this Sunday morning. (Her new wake up time) Since she was up I had her help me make fresh blueberry muffins. Yum. Then we are off to church and hanging out at home together, just me and her!

It's been a fantastic weekend. Hope you are enjoying yours just as much as I am mine!

Thus Far

Aren't my friends cute! (thanks for the picture Becca;)) We are fun, and watch football together.
We watched  Utah Utes take the win over the BYU cougars, once again! RushonRushonRush. That game was crazy! The weekend was too good to me! It may go down in my top 5 weekends ever... thus far.
Alpine Slides, Park City shopping, Wedding Reception, Football, Movies, Games, Walks, Friends, Family, and Goodbyes.
Yes it was a little jammed packed. I'm kinda playing catch up with real life now that it is over... which means I'm brain fried. Wish the weekend could have stayed forever, but it didn't so here is to this week!!! StudyonStudyonStudy. Can you tell I'm brain fried now? I'm rambling, that's a good indicator I need to be done. okay yeah.

Wedding Weekend

One of my very bestest friends got married over the weekend. We have been friends since 7th grade, no big deal! That's a whopping 13 years. I have been friends with my group of girls since 7th grade and two of them since 3rd grade. We go WAYYY back. And we still get together and still love eachother just as much. When we do get together you can expect lots of talking, laughing, joking, sarcasm and occasional cuddling. To start the weekend off the Bride to Be treated us to Afternoon Tea at the Grand America Hotel. We were treated with delicious little bites and pastries, so delicious. She gave us our bridesmaid gift which was a gorgeous pearl necklace and pearl earrings.

Saturday Afternoon I headed up for the wedding rehearsel and dinner. They took us to Reyes Adobe Mexican restaurant for dinner. It is right off of Main Street in Park City. I got the Chicken Mole- Not bad! {I have this love for mole, I like to try it at every mexican restaurant) I spent the night in a condo with my girlfriends. We stayed up until 3am talking and laughing. Good times! We woke up in the morning and headed up to the St. Regis hotel in Deer Valley. Can I say AMAZING? This Hotel is absolutely out of this world. We were given a massive bridal suite to get ready in. We pretty much spend the whole afternoon doing our hair and makeup, approximately 4 hours getting ready! I probably had a million layers of make up and lipstick on.

Here I am with the stunning bride!

Go big or go home!
Don't worry. I had my amazing point and shoot camera. It made us look bright, shiny
and vampire-ish
 BFF's Literally!

Gettin' all dolled up

Red Lipstick

The dress!
Look at that view! Breathtaking view and breathtaking bride!

The ceremony was absolutely perfect and yes, I cried a little. My friends new hubby is Jewish so they celebrated with Jewish traditions which was such a blast. We had a delicious dinner of tri-tip steak that was cooked to perfection. After dinner we danced the night away. I didn't get home until 2am. I love weddings! They just remind me how much I love being married to the love of my life!

XOXO,
Whitney

Its the weekend

Inevitably this weekend I have come to find there are way more things I wanted to do this summer that I didn't write down on the summer list. Well there was no stopping me from doing those things so I am adding them right now by blogging to you about such happenings.

The newest addition to the summer list.... Movies and Swimming. Madagascar three came out it was about time I saw it. I headed to the theater at the time that was most convenient from us girls and well it just so happened to be the 3D version. I wasn't jumping out of my seat when i saw it on the screen as we picked our seats but I just decided that Madagascar 3 was worth it. (If you must know I have an addiction to Madagascar movies. Anyways we went in got our glasses took some supah sicky sick pics, as shown above. And the movie began. I loved it! I even enjoyed the 3D aspect. It was hilarious with witty humor, and hidden humor you know the kind you have to watch the movie three times to pick on. Love that. About the 3D It was great and I thought it wasn't trying to hard to be 3d and I didn't get a headache, but the thing is if you all have a choice just go with regular. My 3D happened by accident so I was happy but if I had the choice, I'd go regular.

Next activity to cross off that happened thus far this weekend. Swimming with some of our close family friends for a birthday party. It was a great time as expected. You can't go wrong with these family friends, a bbq, swimming and then chatting by the fire to get warm once the sun went down as pictured above. Such a good time and I hope there is more to come like last night.
Now I'm off to one of my closest childhood friends wedding reception tonight. I can't wait! ( I mean come on its a wedding and we all know I love those!)

It's been a good weekend!

{weekend} tidbits

Friday was my hubby's birthday. I went all out and made him a homemade ice cream cake. Yep, first time ever. With homemade butterfinger icecream and all. We went to dinner to Red Iguana because he absolutely LOVES mexican cuisine. It was a great evening out with family. When we got to the restaurant I got my camera out to snap a bunch of photos and my camera battery was dead. (Probably made the hubby's day even more!) I was sad I didn't get a picture of my butterfinger cake or to document mmy hubby's 27th birthday. Oh well, we still had a great time!

We went to Red Iguana for dinner. If you haven't been there, you've gotta try it out. Although there is a very long wait but I think it is definitely worth it. I love Mole and it just so happens that Mole is their specialty!

I did want to go and see the new movie Avengers but we ended up spending pretty much all night at the restaurant. We will have to check it out next week!

On Saturday we went up to Bountiful and bought some plants for our vegetable garden and some flowers for our front yard. We planted our veggies and I am so excited. We got probably 5 different varieties of tomatoes, jalapenos, poblanos, potatoes, carrots, basil, broccoli, cauliflower, corn, watermelon, cucumber, acorn squash, banana squash, spaghetti squash, & butternut squash. I'm sure I'm missing something but I can't wait! I love growing our garden. Last year I shared a few harvesting tips on the blog and there will be more to come this summer! We buy all our plants from J&L.

Then last night my mom came over and helped me put my sewing machine together. I started working on my Roman shades. Can I just say that I really like love my new sewing machine? It is so user friendly, especially for a beginner like me. Can't wait to get my roman shades up, they are really going to give my kitchen a finishing look.

Today is a relaxing day. Off to church and then up to the in-laws for some Sunday dinner. Hope you are enjoying your weekend!

XOXO,
Whitney

Weekend & House Updates

I've been busy this weekend.

It started off with Friday and running 15 miles.

This is the farthest distance I have ever ran. Thankful to my friend who ran the first 10 miles with me. At mile 11 I got a burst of energy. At mile 14 my legs got tired. That last mile was not easy.

Friday I babysat for a neighbor. Then the Mr. & I went out to dinner. We took our little love bug with us! We live in Herriman and there aren't very many restaurant choices but our favorite local  place to go is a yummy mexican restaurant: Salsa Leedos. It is also the only mexican restaurant in Herriman. :) Their salsa is so great!

After dinner we headed over to Ikea and bought new dining chairs to go with our new dining table that we bought from DownEast Home.

My Mr. put them all together yesterday.

Then, I spent the entire day painting our bedroom. We went with a wonderful wheatbread color.

We are going to be doing a lot of painting and updates to our home in the next little bit. Can't wait to share them with you as we go!

And today? It's going to be a nice relaxing day. The weather is gorgeous and spring like. We get to head to church and then up to my Aunt's house to celebrate my Granny's birthday.

Happy Weekend,
Whitney

weekend tidbits

Started off the weekend with this lovely little storm.

After the storm was a little more under control we headed off to watch the jazz game. We watched it from one of the suites which is quite nice with our growing family! It was such a fun game the jazz pulled out the win against the timberwolves. Go jazz!

After the game my friend and I headed over to Dolcetti Gelato to get some gelato. I have been a few times now to know the flavors are rotated daily, and have always found a flavor I love. But Saturday night I might as well have died and gone to heaven. I walked excited to see what flavors where on the menu tonight and there was Salted Caramel! I think I passed out and went to even for the hour I was there eating the gelato. It was amazing. I wish you could taste how good it was through the picture but you can't Whit already tried. So instead just head over to Dolcetti Gelato and hope they have Salted Caramel gelato the day you go. Obviously it was a great weekend!

Much Love,

nicole
