Valentines Day Gift Idea + Datevitation Giveaway
Over the weekend the hubby and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary. He surprised me and took me on a four day trip down to Las Vegas. (More on that later!) We usually don't exchange gifts on our anniversary, instead we usually go to dinner at a very fancy and expensive restaurant and enjoy our time together. But when Datevitation contacted me and asked if I was interested in doing a review I was absolutely thrilled. This would be the perfect gift to give my husband for our anniversary...and it was the kind of gifts we like to give- the best gift of all- our time together! I had never heard of Datevitation.com before but as soon as I checked out their website I thought it was such a fun idea. Datevitation is the web's first online platform to create a custom love coupon book. Unlike the pre-packaged love coupon books on the market, you pick the dates and can customize the text to your liking. Once you are done customizing the text in your book, Datevitation will print it out and ship it to you in a ready-to-gift box. Their website is so user friendly they make it a snap to create your custom coupon book, and if you need a little help they even provide a video: http://youtu.be/0Ewi_tnJS48]. I had so much fun creating my coupon book for my hubby. There are over 200 date ideas including creative, artistic, romantic and even {sexy} dates to choose from. Even better are the illustrations that are so cute they make you want to giggle. When we got home from our Vegas trip I surprised my hubby with a coupon book from Datevitation and I can't wait for him to redeem his coupons!
How cute did mine turn out?? I love it and shipping was so quick. Their coupon books start at around $20 and that includes 5 custom date pages. This would be the perfect gift idea for that special someone on Valentines Day. And guess what?? All our readers can use the code ‘somethingbrought’ for $10 off your purchase in January. That is practically HALF OFF!! You are welcome!
Also, ONE lucky reader can enter the Rafflecopter below to win a Datevitation coupon book of their own. Winner will be announced next week. Good luck!

Eshakti Review & GIVEAWAY!
Last month Nicole and I were approached by Eshakti to do a clothing review. I had heard about Eshakti but didn't really know much about their clothing or their company. Eshakti is an online womens clothing company specializing in dresses, vintage dresses, formal dresses, etc. They are NOT your average online clothing company, they have something really unique about them- you pick your dress and then you can customize it to your liking. They have many different sizes to make sure that it fits you just perfect. Then you can customize the sleeve length and the dress length. The dress I chose was originally sleeveless. I decided to add 3/4 length sleeves since it is winter time and I wanted to keep my arms warm! It turned out even better than I expected. Nicole's was able to add sleeves to her dress and change the length on hers too. When I got my dress in the mail I immediately tried it on and couldn't believe how comfortable it was. I loved the vintage look of it and how practical it was. I literally didn't want to take it off, it is so comfortable I could sleep in it! I instantly knew I wanted to pair mine with my favorite boots and it is so gorgeous on its own I don't need to wear a ton of accessories. Nicole's dress is perfect for layering with a cardigan or wearing on its own. We are so satisfied with our choices from Eshakti and would recommend it to YOU and anyone who is looking for the perfect dress.
P.S. Photoshoots are awkward
(Why are we pushing our stomachs forward??)

Halloween Craft? + {A CraftyWood Cutout Giveaway}
Remember how I said I was going to be a Hunter's widow for a few weeks? Since I was going to be hubby-less for a litle while I was trying to think of ways to keep myself busy. Of course I had a few crafts I wanted to make. It is starting to feel like Fall is headed our way so I was looking for something fallish. I guess I have to come to terms with the fact that summer is almost over. Also, since I can't have a full on "girls" craft night without the baby girl around I wanted a craft that would be a little easier for me to handle. So I headed down to Orem to check out Crafty Wood Cutouts.
Do you ever dread going into a craft store? Well I do. I have a two year old!! I know I am going to have to chase her around and just try to prevent her from touching everything or breaking something. THANK GOODNESS for Crafty Wood Cutout's Kids corner- a room with toys & a movie playing to distract my little one so that I could somewhat peacefully pick out my craft. At the store they have all of their fall and Halloween crafts out. Um Halloween? Still feels forever away BUT as soon as I saw the Halloween banner I fell in love. At the store they have everything you ever need to make the craft. As soon as I had all of my supplies I headed up to Nicole's house for some crafting!
For this craft I used: The cutest Halloween paper ever (CWC), black craft paint, mod podge, vinyl, 14 banner blocks, wire, & black raffia
First we traced out our banner blocks onto the paper.
Then cut them out. I did get some really cute black Halloween paper but we decided that the vinyl letters wouldn't show up on it. Note to self: Don't pick out black paper to but black letters on.
Next step: Paint your banner blocks. No sanding required- yahoo!
Put a little bit of mod podge down on the block, set the cut out paper on and put a thin layer of mod podge on top of the paper. Let it dry.
While you are waiting for all of the banner blocks to dry now is a perfect time to grab a snack. If you need one. Just don't let your sister in law talk you into trying her favorite Dutch licorice. Dubbelzout - translation=double salt. These were NASTY. Put one in my mouth and gagged, then she tried telling me to keep chewing, it gets better, nope! It just gets worse.
After you have washed your mouth out from the nasty licorice you just tried the blocks should be dry and ready to put the vinyl on. Seriously, this part is so easy if you know how to use a sticker or a bandaid.
I like to use a credit card - or in this case my library card- to push down the vinyl to make sure there are no air bubbles and that it sticks! I did have a problem where the vinyl wasn't really sticking to my glitter paper so I just painted mod podge over those ones- problem solved!
After all the letters were on we put the wire through. We used a small dowel to curl the ends.
Oh my gosh. I was so thrilled with how it turned out. Is it too soon to start putting out my Halloween decorations? My Mother in Law loved it so much she is going to go get her own to make as well. If I was nicer I would have given it to her. Sorry! I'm too in love with it for me to be giving it away.
I couldn't be happier with how it turned out and how simple it was to make.
Amazing craft+simple=Crafty Wood Cutouts
And GUESS WHAT???? Crafty Wood Cutouts has been so very kind to offer to give one of YOU lovely readers a Halloween craft. One of you will win this super cute Witch Hat:
Best of Luck to all of you!

Turning Two
Well, it happened. My Baby Girl went and turned TWO on me over the weekend, so technically she is a "toddler" but she will always be my baby girl. Saturday was her actual birthday so we threw her a little party. The theme was turquoise, yellow & gray. I thought about doing a Minnie Mouse theme since she LOVES Mickey Mouse Clubhouse but I figured I would have plenty of years of character themed parties ahead of me so why not relish in the simple "color" theme. She started out her party with a phone call from her cousins in Maryland singing "Happy Birthday" to her.
Oh Nicole...
Mia dancing at her party. It's her party and she'll dance if she wants to!
Instead of a cake I opted for cupcakes. I made a sour cream vanilla cupcake with Vanilla Almond Buttercream and a Chocolatey cupcake with salted caramel filled center, dark chocolate buttercream with a salted caramel drizzle. All topped with fondant decorations {made by me} to spell out Happy Birthday Mia.
Grammy
Of course she got spoiled like crazy.
For Dessert I made homemade icecream. {Raspberry, Oreo & Red Velvet Cream Cheese Cake}
Happy Birthday to You!
Delicous Cupcakes!
Her Party was a success. She loved all the attention and all of her new gifts. So much work for her party but she is definitely worth it. Love her to pieces!
P.S.
You should all go check out this LOVELY giveaway and enter to win!
XOXO,
Whitney
