Easy Cream Cheese Frosting on a Lazy Sunday

Feeling a little lazy on this Sunday morning. You know those days? When you just feel like relaxing and hanging out in comfy clothes? Ya, its one of those. And on those lazy Sundays sometimes you just feel like indulging... but without all the work. If there is one thing my dad (who is also an award winning professional chef) has taught me is that SIMPLE can also be delicious! This super easy cream cheese frosting is so simple to make and so versatile. You can use it on just about anything, like these yummy homemade oreo cookies:

Or these delish mini red velvet cupcakes.

Or you could definitely put the frosting on cinnamon rolls, carrot cake, sugar cookies, even indulge yourself by putting it on a graham cracker for something sweet.  You really can put it on just about ANYTHING. Seriously, it is so delicious you will be licking your fingers when no one is looking.

Here is what you need:

1 stick of butter; softened
1 8 oz package of cream cheese or for a lighter fare you can also use Neufchatel cheese; softened
4 cups powdered sugar
1 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract

Using a mixer,  blend cream cheese and butter together until light and fluffy.Add powdered sugar in 2 cup increments and cream until well blended. Blend in vanilla and ENJOY.

Seriously, it's that easy. Once you start making your own frostings you will never go back to store bought again, trust me.

XOXO,
Whitney
