Shoppings More Fun WITH BLOGGERS in Tooele!!

Last Friday I had the opportunity to attend a Downeast Clothing blogger mixer.  It was located at their new store that they just opened up in Tooele, UT. I was so excited to meet some new bloggers and of course do some shopping at DownEast. (I love their clothing!) Since Nicole was in Chicago I convinced my mother in law to come with me as my guest. As soon as we arrived we were given a goody bag filled with a giftcard to Downeast, chocolate, and a pretty fall scarf.

All the bloggers in attendance:

And guess what? DownEast is 21 years old. Can you believe it? They were (and still are - if you hurry) having a sale for 21% off of EVERYTHING in the store. You can't beat that!

I did some shopping. Here are a few of my favorite things:

And guess what? They have little girls clothing as well. It seriously is the cutest, EVER. They have some great pieces that would look great in family pictures. (I'm just planning ahead here...)

 Doing some more shopping:

DownEast has so much to offer. They have stylish, affordable, modest clothing. Not only that but in some store locations they are an "outfitter" which means that they carry name brand clothing for an unbelievable price. I love to buy my name brand jeans here. So glad that I was able to go to this blogger mixer because shopping really is more fun with bloggers!

Deals & Steals

I love a good deal. Who doesn't? The other night I was meeting up with some family for dinner. I didn't have alot of time to think about what to wear. This outfit just kind of happened. Then I realized that I had spent under $35 for my outfit (including shirt, pants & shoes!) I was raised a bargain shopper. Ever since I was little, when my mom would take me shopping we would head straight to the clearance racks. Sometimes you find nothing and sometimes you get really lucky. In the end, it is worth it and you feel so good when you have gotten a good deal!

Shirt: Old Navy - $4
Pants: Marshalls - $16.99
Shoes: Ross- Steve Madden- $14
Grand total: $34.99

It's good to be back from my little break from the world. More to come about our camping adventures..oh and Mia's 2 yr photo shoot!

XOXO,
Whitney

Hunter's Widow

As of yesterday at about noon I officially became a "Hunter's Widow". If your husband is a hunter you know what I am talking about. As soon as hunting season starts, all of a sudden hubby is no where to be seen. Yep, off to campingville he went. We usually go every year and I go camping with him for a week. This year he is going to be gone EXTRA long because he drew out for a special/once in a lifetime {BIG daddy} Bull Elk tag. Love you Hubby, but there is NO WAY I am camping for 3 1/2 weeks. I love to camp and I usually like to go out hiking with him but talking Mia out hiking is out of the question. She would scare all the Elk away!   I will be meeting up with him next week though. In the meanwhile I have to find ways to spend my days & nights as a hunters widow.

While he is gone I will:

Not be doing alot of cooking but probably eating a lot of Tomato sandwiches. It's hard cook for just me & a baby

Shopping, shopping, shopping. Found these shoes yesterday for only 14.99. LOVE
DIYing. I have a few crafts up my sleeve.

Watching Lifetime movies. Who doesn't love a good cheesy, sleazy, crazy Liftetime movie?

And on my list to do:
Pedicure
Craft Night
Farmers Market

I've got to keep busy so I don't think about how much I miss the hubby! Is anyone else a hunter's widow? How do you pass the time while your hubby is away hunting?

XOXO,
Whitney

Window Shopping

On Saturday we went to City Creek. I LOVE everything about City Creek. It was a rainy day so they had the retractrable roof closed but it still felt as if were we outside enjoying the fresh air. As you walk through you walk next to streams filled with fish and pass by water fountains. It is very refreshing. Our first stop was lunch at Chick Fil A, then over to Love Culture (one of my fav stores to shop in...totally in my price range!) Then we headed over to the Disney Store. Last time we were at City Creek there was an hour wait to just get into the Disney store but this time we didn't have to wait although it was pretty crazy in the store. Mia was in heaven, surrounded by Minnie and Mickie Mouse stuffed animals and coloring with other kids. I also had to refrain myself from dying over how cute the dress up outfits are. All things for me to keep in mind for her upcoming birthday.

As we were walking through the shopping center I did a little bit of window shopping. There are a few stores there that I just WISH I could afford. But I saw this outfit in the window at J.Crew and was literally drooling over it.

After passing J.Crew we walked over to look at the water fountains. We stood upstairs so we could stay covered from the rain but still be able to see the fountains. We just happened to be standing next to the Michael Kors store so I did some more "window shopping". I thought this watch and handbag would go perfectly with my imaginary outfit from J.Crew:

Do you ever window shop? I find myself doing it quite often and I am perfectly fine with it. I just have to stick to stores that I can afford like Love Culture and maybe someday I will be able to do more than just window shop at stores like Michael Kors.

Whitney
