Eshakti Review & GIVEAWAY!

Last month Nicole and I were approached by Eshakti to do a clothing review. I had heard about Eshakti but didn't really know much about their clothing or their company. Eshakti is an online womens clothing company specializing in dresses, vintage dresses, formal dresses, etc. They are NOT your average online clothing company, they have something really unique about them- you pick your dress and then you can customize it to your liking. They have many different sizes to make sure that it fits you just perfect. Then you can customize the sleeve length and the dress length. The dress I chose was originally sleeveless. I decided to add 3/4 length sleeves since it is winter time and I wanted to keep my arms warm! It turned out even better than I expected. Nicole's was able to add sleeves to her dress and change the length on hers too. When I got my dress in the mail I immediately tried it on and couldn't believe how comfortable it was. I loved the vintage look of it and how practical it was. I literally didn't want to take it off, it is so comfortable I could sleep in it! I instantly knew I wanted to pair mine with my favorite boots and it is so gorgeous on its own I don't need to wear a ton of accessories. Nicole's dress is perfect for layering with a cardigan or wearing on its own. We are so satisfied with our choices from Eshakti and would recommend it to YOU and anyone who is looking for the perfect dress.

P.S. Photoshoots are awkward

Leopard+Chambray

Do you ever look in your closet and think to yourself "I have NOTHING to wear today!". Well, I think that all the time, especially now that it is practically winter here in Utah. I was headed out to lunch with my mom yesterday and thought I would try a chambray combination that would give it more of a fallish look. I paired my favorite chambray shirt with my leopard sweater. I wasn't quite sure about the combo at first and even told my mom on the phone that I was wearing an outfit I wasn't sure about but Oh well! I actually think it turned out cute. Not that I am any fashion expert at all... but I was pretty happy with how it came together. Glad I could find more ways to wear my chambray shirt!

Here is what I am loving lately:

Last week I was on a mission to find some Burgundy skinny jeans, seeing as Burgundy is the "it" color for fall and everything. I looked everywhere. Either the stores I went to didn't have any burgundy skinnies, they were all out and/or didn't have my size. Go Figure!  But it just so happens that while I was out looking for Burgundy skinny jeans I found a new fall color that I am now in love with. Purple. Yep, purple. Kind of surprising for me because I am not usually a purple lover. But I saw these purple skinnies at Kohls, tried them on and didn't want to take them off. They are super comfy and flattering too. Oh and did I mention? WAY CUTE!! And the plus side is I can always find great deals at Kohl's.

Via Kohls

And what else would I pair with my new purple skinnies than my favorite leopard flats? Seriously, I am going to have to find another pair of these because I am going to wear them out so quickly. I am kind of obsessed with them {if you couldn't tell} they just go with everything!!

What I'm Lovin

image enlargement
I'm lovin this swimsuit from  White house Black market. It's on sale for 20.99 and if you sign up for their emails you can get an extra 10 % off. Which makes this swimsuit 18 dollars! what a steal. I bought it a few weeks ago and just got it in he mail yesterday. I tried it on as soon as I could and I LOVE LOVE LOVE this swimsuit. The fabric is good quality. The front is lined. And the bum isn't high cut so it covers you right where you should be without making you look like a grandma. I have wanted a one shoulder one piece for awhile so I went for this one, I was a little unsure as I waited for it but as soon as I got this swimsuit on my uncertainty disappeared. Loved the fit, color, and quality. I'd buy 5 more if I could.

I'm lovin these running shoes from Asics. They are the Gel Nimbus 13 running shoes. Everyone has their own brand and opinions on running shoes so here is mine. When I first got these I was skeptical considering all my feet problems and that they basically hurt 24/7. High arches, weak ankles, high instep, and fat feet. Yep I've got it all.  To begin with, I work at a dental office where I am up and on my feet quite a bit of the day. So when my dad brought these running shoes home, I figured work was the perfect place to try them out. I was in immediate shoe heaven my first day wearing them. After a week of wearing them to work, I decided I should run in them so I did and I haven't stopped since. My feet feel great!

I have been and still am lovin this watch from WeWood. I just really really want it because it's cool.

That's what I'm Lovin,
nicole

Hey Friends! Don't forget to enter our giveaway going on now! I am still out of town camping/hunting with the hubby. {Can't wait to come home and take a shower} Since I am still gone and I just know how much you miss me I thought I would give you another little treat- A Guest Post. My "real life" friend Mallory has started up an awesome new Fashion blog called A Girls Kind of Therapy. Besides blogland, I actually know Mal in real life. We danced together in Jr. High and were on Drill Team in High school...we go wayyy back! This girl has always had a great sense of style and is here to share that with you today. Show her some love!!

***********************************************************************************

Hey guys! My name is Mallory from A Girls Kind Of therapy. I am so excited that I get to be a guest on this wonderful blog. I am sure you guys already know how amazing this blog is, it is definitely one of my daily reads because it seriously has a piece of everything from fashion, cooking, crafts, and just their fun lives! I have known Whit since Jr. High and she is seriously the sweetest girl ever! I am so blessed to know her!
Anyways, one of my favorite pieces in my closet this summer has been my maxi shirts. I am convinced that there is no comfier piece of clothing then a maxi skirt. However, I feel like they have became really trendy this summer with pairing a bright top, sandals, and of course those flashy accessories. But, I am here to tell you to not pack them away with those summer clothes! Keep them around for the fall by pairing them with a warmer, darker top. You can even finish it off with a blazer, boots or flats
This is a piece that I don't think I can part with for any season.

Window Shopping

On Saturday we went to City Creek. I LOVE everything about City Creek. It was a rainy day so they had the retractrable roof closed but it still felt as if were we outside enjoying the fresh air. As you walk through you walk next to streams filled with fish and pass by water fountains. It is very refreshing. Our first stop was lunch at Chick Fil A, then over to Love Culture (one of my fav stores to shop in...totally in my price range!) Then we headed over to the Disney Store. Last time we were at City Creek there was an hour wait to just get into the Disney store but this time we didn't have to wait although it was pretty crazy in the store. Mia was in heaven, surrounded by Minnie and Mickie Mouse stuffed animals and coloring with other kids. I also had to refrain myself from dying over how cute the dress up outfits are. All things for me to keep in mind for her upcoming birthday.

My Sister, Mom and I
 Cute girlies holding hands
Me & my baby

As we were walking through the shopping center I did a little bit of window shopping. There are a few stores there that I just WISH I could afford. But I saw this outfit in the window at J.Crew and was literally drooling over it.

After passing J.Crew we walked over to look at the water fountains. We stood upstairs so we could stay covered from the rain but still be able to see the fountains. We just happened to be standing next to the Michael Kors store so I did some more "window shopping". I thought this watch and handbag would go perfectly with my imaginary outfit from J.Crew:

Do you ever window shop? I find myself doing it quite often and I am perfectly fine with it. I just have to stick to stores that I can afford like Love Culture and maybe someday I will be able to do more than just window shop at stores like Michael Kors.

XOXO,
Whitney

Oscars

Best dressed goes to Octavia Spencer, Gwyneth Paltrow, Cameron Diaz, and Mila Jovovich.

Apparentely I was loving white last night. All these ladies looked Gorgeous, Octavia was stunning, Gwyneth was Beautiful, and Mila was classic. On the Other hand Cameron need a lot a bit of help. Loved Camerons dress by Givenchy but didn't love her in it.

Worst Dressed: Angelina Jolie. Sorry to all those who loved this look, but I very much disliked it. She looked completely awkward and the dress was just nothing to talk about.

Also among the worst dressed was JLO, this dress was just tacky in my opinion.

Sadly the Oscars are over, And sadly I only watch the Oscars for the dresses.

much love,
nicole

Life Changing Levi Jeans

I'm back from my Thanksgiving break. I took a little hiatus from blogging. But can you blame me? If you read Nicole's post yesterday you would know why! I was enjoying the warm(er) St. George weather, being around amazing family and of course- SHOPPING. I love Thanksgiving shopping, especially Black Friday but I do it the "old fashioned" way. I do not look ahead online at any of the Black Friday ads. I wait until the Thanksgiving newspaper comes and then my searching begins. I study all of the ads and decide what stores I want to go to.  The Mr. isn't a fan of this so he does his shopping online. I'm not very good at online shopping but he sure is and got some great steals.  I will then wake up super early and shop 'til I drop. I don't wait in line all day night in the freezing cold... I'm not that crazy! This year most of the stores that I wanted to shop at were opening at midnight rather than 5am which turned out to be super convenient. I was able to get some of my shopping done at midnight, go home and sleep in. After sleeping in until 9am I was back out shopping for pretty much the rest of the day. That night we were roaming around the St. George shopping outlets when Nicole decided to check out the Levi's outlet. The associate started telling us about their new jeans that fit you according to "your curve". Then I saw an ad that asked: Do you jeans gap in the back? YES!! Mine always do. I have a small waist but some junk in the trunk so my jeans never seem to fit my waist right. So I had the associate measure my "curve". I was a "bold curve". I wasn't really interested in buying a pair of jeans but I decided I would just try them on to see if they really fit as well as explained. Then what happened next was life chaning. Yes-

Life. Changing.

The BEST fitting pair of jeans I have ever tried on. EVER. Thank you Levi's. Even better... they were on sale for $34.99. Nicole and I each bought a pair and talked about how amazing they are for the rest of the evening. Best $35 I have ever spent. They are flattering, fit my waist and are ridiculously comfortable. Needless to say I have been wearing them for the past four days. (Don't worry, I have washed them in between) The only bad part is... I only bought one pair. So I just had to share with you the world's best jeans (according to me).

XOXO,

Whitney

Gear Up

So now that I have decided to run the Ogden Marathon in May I am thinking it is time to get some new gear. First things first, I got a gym pass to my local rec center. I have just been working out at home and running outside but the temperature has dropped ridiculously low and lets be honest, it is just WAY too cold to run outside when it is below freezing. Yes, one morning I woke up to go running and it was a balmy 28 degrees... BRRR. Also, I really need new running shoes. I currently run in Nike's and they seem to be working out for me but they are starting to wear thing and have about seen their last day. I really need some suggestions, so if you have any please leave me a comment on what you prefer! But what I also need is some stylish new running clothes.

I saw this adorable headband and loved the colors!

I could pair the headband with this super cute orange sherbet colored jacket:

Pair it with some running tights from adidas (notice that adidas is in turquoise.... oh how I like LOVE turquoise)

And then throw a turquoise running tank underneath the jacket like this one:

Oh how cute would that be???? I'm only dreaming of course.... or just starting my Christmas wish list a little early. You decide which one! Now if only I could find the perfect pair of running shoes that were comfortable and perfect to run in that were also SUPER cute!! Why is it that the best running shoes are not always the cutest running shoes? I have definitely learned my lesson there. I picked out a cute pair of gray and turquoise running shoes because I just had to have them, turns out they aren't so great for long distance running. DARN, guess they will just have to make good gym shoes. If you find any perfect running shoes please feel free to send me a comment!

XOXO,

WHITNEY
